    For the welders

Anyone running a miller 350p ? Trying to decide if the extra $$ over a 252 is worth it. Looks like the pulse is the main difference other than just size.

How much control do you need for what you expect to be welding? What will be your primary welding material? The 350P gives a bit more control if your welds are real critical, depending on the material you are running.

Hodgepodge of random repairs nothing set in stone. Rarely over 1/2" steel. Really wanting to learn some basic aluminum with that spool gun or the gun for that 350p. I probably can't justify the 350 but trying to talk myself into it! Lol

You could set up a 252 for push/pull with a Cobramatic lead, so no spool gun would be required. But you would prob want to change the lead back out when welding steels. Thing about spoolguns is they get heavy if you have to hold them all day. Thing about Cobramatics is not many people know how to use them correctly.

I picked up a pretty good deal on a 5 year old 252 not long ago. Save me some $$$ for other needed equipment. And have a Lincoln 225 Precision Tig for micro critical welds and everything else. I can take the Lincoln down to 3 amps if needed. But there is not much in that low of range to weld. But going down to 12 amps is a possibility.

Go to Welding Tips and Tricks.com. Jody has a number of videos on a number of topics. I'm sure he has discussed the benefits/applicability of pulsed MIG. You can subscribe and receive a video every week. Good practical stuff.

That 252 is a good machine, it's on my short list.

If you were closer you could come try my 252. The spool gun that is on it is considerably lighter than my old Spoolgun 3 and I have no problems welding with it for several hours at a time.
