    Ducks Unlimited vs. Delta Waterfowl

Do you guys have opinions on a better place to donate to? I'm a member of DU but should I donate to DW as well or pick one. Who has better methods for using my money?

Ducks unlimited is about buying up land for ducks and delta waterfowl is about predator control. One gives ducks a place to lay eggs and the other helps the hatched eggs to grow to adulthood. Both are viable options in my opinion.

Neither, tell them to spend more money down here on habitat versus states up north to hold birds up there. They pulled the wool over our eyes for way too long now.

They only care about the duck populations not the hunting in a particular area.

Both are great conservation organizations. If you have the extra few bucks, join both! DU & delta have done a lot of good stuff in my neck of the woods and all around the country

Let me guess you got that from their mission statement. Funny how they used to publish articles about the big wigs back in the 90s going to Mexico and killing 25 (mostly pintail) ducks a man down there when we could could kill 4 a piece (1 pintail). If I was to choose one it would be delta waterfowl, DU has went way overboard in non breeding ground states, migratory states. What you're saying is they should be putting a ton of money into southern states like Texas and LA, Ducks have to rest, eat, and be ready for the long trip back to the breeding grounds don't they? DU is all about the money now, have been for a long time. Ya they do good things but they have shoved it down our throats in the south for way too long.

Most of the ducks we shoot don't nest here. That's generally what they are worried about.

Joining is easy and cheap. Need more donations for tax reasons in 2017 meant to do this in 2016...

                  That's why I ask.

Proceeds from local DU events doesn't stay local. That's why our county ditched them several years ago and went to DW.

I get that, no prb with them dumping money into breeding grounds. Places like Ark, OK, Ks, And Nebraska don't need near the money. They should spend a lot more money in the birds very southern areas getting ready for flights back to the breeding grounds if they are so worried about it. Is what it is everyone has their own opinions but I've watched it happen for years and have seen the decline of birds making it down here. They are screwing us.

I agree. DU spends wayyyyy too much money north of Texas for me to give them any of mine. Seems like every year ducks get here later or not at all bc they have no reason to leave where they are at....

Hands down Delta Waterfowl, strong advocate for predator control, and allow their chapters to keep a percentage of the money they raise to spend locally.
