I don't know much about it, but my mother's aunt belonged to the Daughters of the Republic.

My mom is a daughter of the republic. I had family fight at both the Alamo and
San jacinto. I really need to get my paperwork done so I can get my sons certificate.

I thought about joining Sons of Confederate Veterans. My peeps weren't here in time to be sons of the Republic.

I am a Son of the American Revolution (SAR) but my family was not in Texas in time for me to be a Son of the Republic.

I had a good friend with the last name of Milam that was very active in the Son of the Republic and he used to fuss at me for not belonging.. I love the history of it... but can't stand all the pomp and circumstance...

Could do the Sons of the Confederacy but not Sons of TX. Wish I could.

My mom is a daughter of the Republic and my Dads side has land grants from the Mexican govt dated in the 1820's. I really need to get my paperwork in as it would be cool to be able to claim both sides.
