    arrow weight question

whats the big diff if i had an arrow that weighed 400grains with a 100gr head or if i had another arrow that also was 400gr but had a 125gr head?

    Are lengths the same?

Increase in foc. Better flight better penetration.

No way to really answer this without specifics of each arrow. I would bet that FOC on the two arrows would be different, but again, it depends on the specifics of each of the arrows.

I was guessing if he added 25 gn to the tip but same total weight. Then either the 125 gn head arrow was cut shorter by a couple of inches depending on gpi or the arrow was lighter gpi. Either way an increase of foc happens

Again just guessing not enough info

Need to know on the bow as well because the two head weights will cause deflection differences. While a 400 may be adequate for a bow with a 100gr head a 125 may require stepping to a 340.

Something tells me you're in for a lesson in EFOC and Atom Broadheads. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

The trajectory will be flatter at longer range with the 100g head.and less KE..and bow noiser..

The KE will be higher and not as flat trajectory with the 125g head ...and less noise..

Best way to test if its that big a deal with you,is set up at 30y or 40y Shoot 2 arrows with 100g field points mark where they hit then swap to 125 g and shoot ..see for yourself..its a cheap date to answer

But all above will be minimal for 25g diff..

There won't be any difference in the noise level. And the flatter or not will be dependent on also if he's over spined, under spined also with only 25 grains. There's not hardly any difference with only a 25 grain move in speed, trajectory, KE, momentum and virtually none in noise.

He stated both at 400 gn so no speed difference at all at bow. Also if both arrows weight the same then he had to,cut one arrow almost 3 inches to keep same weight so no spine problem unless the first arrow was already a problem.

Again not enough info all speculation at this time
