Official: 3 Weeks Without a Deer Thread

AKA Rant!........Anybody else wondering where all the darn deer went?
Today I counted 22 deer between work and my gate to the ranch. I left as soon as I got off at 6:45am. My buddy said he saw about the same thing on his way about 6am. Hung around ranch until 12noon and didn't see a single deer and 3 of our feeder pens were detroyed by cows (again ) that makes 4 pens and 2 feeders this week trashed by those S.O.B's, and we have so many tracks and new scrapes around the ranch that it looks like an army of deer are hiding somewhere. do we have Ninja Deer? Covert Ops deer, deer with awsome skills?

This is just getting ridiculous. I feel like I should be charging the rancher for hunting.......uh, I mean feeding all his **** cows and supplying the equipment to do it Ok, better now.

Yeah, at our San Angelo lease Mailman was about to drop the string on a solid 150 ten point yesterday morning when a cow walked up and scared him off. A calf walked under the fence and stood at the feeder while the buck tried to get back in the pen. It finally left. I thought we were going to have to eat a whole calf for supper. I HATE cows. Our pasture is looking like an African savanna during the dry season. It's dry and the cows have eaten everything but the mesquite and pear.

Ya it's gotten bad with the cows since we haven't had any rain for so long. We are dry, but the river is only 200-300 yards off the back of our place. Yesterday one of our guys was dumping out some corn at a feeder and when the cows heard the corn sound emptying outta the bag they came running in (literally) and pushed against the barbed wire fencing until it finally broke! Another one of our guys actually saw 2 of the bulls JUMP over a 3' foot pen and trash a feeder! that was the last straw for him. He's packed all his stuff and took it home a couple weeks ago.
