Had a friend from church just buy a granite business in the Austin area, but I don't know anything about pricing.

What level granite? 1, 2, or 3? Wide variations from 1-3.

Can you explain the difference in levels? and compare contrast to quartz. Wife wants pretty much bullet proof regarding staining...
Hopefully this helps the OP as well not trying to get off topic.

All depends on grade of granite. A,B, C , D or E. Can vary from $36-78 sq foot installed. Will cost more for undercount sinks and drop in ranges typically. If you want bullet proof against stains, go with Quartz.

Granite levels go from 1-5 or 6. A level 3 you could expect about $50/sqft installed

From my understanding the different levels are basically the different patterns the more uniform the cheaper the ones with more variations on pattern and color are more. We basically went to about 10 different places looking then cut out some for bad reviews and went with the one that had the granite we liked as far as pattern and color

Houston area $25-$30/ sq ft installed for level 1/2. Quartz is around $40/sq ft for the same quality. Some suppliers make you buy the whole slab which is around 47 sq ft. Others charge a little more but you only pay for what you need. There are two common thicknesses; 2 cm and 3 cm. With the 3 cm they don't have to glue two thicknesses on the exposed edges and you don't need 3/4" plywood on the cabinet tops to support.

Have received a bid for barbados granite for $72/sq ft installed.

Please chime in, or correct if I'm wrong about thinking this is overpriced..

                        Depends on size and product.
How many slabs needed vs. Pre fab
I installed this pre fab kitchen at 40 per sq
And I have installed others at 80

FYI When we did ours I saved $500 by demoing the existing counters. Took about an hour and saved quite a bit.
