What Polaris Ranger Tire

Been running Bighorns and after three years I finally have enough holes in them I need to replace them. Leaning towards Bighorn 2.0 but thought there might be a better option.

Hunt south texas so lots of thorns. We do travel paved roads so Radial is a plus.

Thoughts?

Any good 10 ply radials?

I hunt Mule Deer in Pecos County west of Ft. Stockton. A buddy is using STI Roctane 8 ply tires that are filled with 1/2 gallon/tire of Multi-seal per tire. He has run them for two years and had zero flats running in/over mesquites, greasewood, Devils Claw cactus and various other West Texas brush while hunting off the roads in his Kubota. He did not put any air in them in 17 days hunting Mule Deer this season. I run standard stock tires that came on my Ranger and had to plug way to many holes in each tire for the past 2 years in the same terrain and amount of days as my friend. I am switch to the 8 ply STI Roctanes this year. They also make a STI Kevlar Roctane now but it is much higher in cost. The 8 ply will run be about $420/set of 4 for my Ranger on a price match at Discount Tire. Mesquites will still puncture the tires some but the tire sealant will seal a mesquite thorn hole. The greasewood or whitebrush is a much large hole in a standard tire and he is not getting any flats from those while I get tons of them.

Bighorn 2.0 on mine and like em! Fill them up Berrymans sealant and your good to go! Going on year 2 with mine and they are holding up very well in west tx mesquite, cactus and thorn country!

Yea roctanes are sweet. I run sedona rip saws in the same type of terrain. Use a good bit of slime in each tire. No problems. Both the rocktane and ripsaws are better than bighorns

Look into the motoclaws before you get the roctanes. I've ran both and the roctanes chopped on me. Currently have the motoclaws on and love them.

I have had the best luck with factory tires. I run a bunch of slime and low air pressure. I can. Or tell you the amount of cactus and mesquite I run over.

If you have a 14 or 15" wheel, and thorns are your issue, take a look at some of the smaller Super Swamper truck tires. They have a much tougher carcass than an ATV tire, and still clear mud plenty good.

I've seen some folks putting them on, and it's got me to thinking.

I'm in the super swamper crowd. Been very pleased with the ride on all different terrains and don't think twice about cactus or mesquite

Also, I've heard that the HighLifter Pro Series tire sealant is supposed to be the best on the market. I've never used it personally, but buddies of mine say its better than slime.

Just replaced the OEMs after 8 years with bighorns. We really like them so far.
