Getting to go to south TX this weekend and was just wondering what the bucks are doing. Are they still chasing, hitting the corn or gone into hiding? My luck it hiding lol. I will be around FM624 and 16.

This past weekend we saw a bunch of bucks chasing. Unfortunately, they were on the other side of the game fence trying to get to the does on our side.

Not sure about that area, but in Northern Live Oak county the activity died off after the great rains in early December around the corn feeders. The deer are chasing winter weeds now. That area was always really great rattling after the Jan 1st for some reason. I managed a ranch down 624 not far from there.

Saw some chasing action today in a low fence area

Go on our place said the bucks are going nuts right now. Should be a great weekend with the cold weather.

You are definitely going to be in a prime area. Hunted a few miles from that intersection for years. It's my favorite time to be there, deer should be hammering the corn and bucks should still be checking does. Missed a B&C buck last year around this time.

My son and I have been at our place in Webb for the last 5 days. Activity has definitely been a lot slower than normal. Mornings to about 11am seem to have been the time to be in the stand. We've noticed the younger bucks running a little still but the older bucks seem to be sticking to the brush. The cooler days were definitely better so maybe this front were supposed to get will help you out. Good luck.
