    Vacuum Sealer Bags

Hey, it's that time... getting our meat processed and put away for the year.

We process and package with the Foodsaver system ourselves. But, looking at what's out there, there are so many generic options to consider. Anyone use the off brands and have any advice? Looking at the 50' rolls from Food Vac Bags but we are scared to chance the meat. TIA

I use bags off of amazon. They are generics and do really well. I don't remember the name though, point is there are better (cheaper) than name brand foods aver

If you switch to a chamber type vacuum sealer the savings on bags will pay for the machine in a few years. I just got some bags in and 4 mil 6"x8" were less than $30 per thousand, 4 mil 8"x10" were under $50 per thousand and 2.5"x10" slim jim bags were 2,000 for $21.
I have a Vacmaster VP215 and it is awesome.

These are the ones I bought last time: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think they were $12 for 2 50' at that time. Had good reviews and haven't let me down.
