    Any Majek owners on here?

I'm looking hard at both the 25 illusion and the 25 extreme. Just curious if anyone on here owned a majek and how they like it.

    Love my ol RFL!

Really just depends on what type of area you fish and what your looking for in a boat. You like to fish deep or shallow? The illusion is a pretty rough ride when its choppy out.

Grew up a few miles from where they are made and a bunch of friends had them growing up. One of the most solid boats on the water. Run super skinny too!

Love my redfish line with TRP. If it's rough just get shallow enough that there aren't anymore waves.

1987 Majek 18 foot skiff. Does that count.

Well, 2 totally different hulls that do 2 very different things. I've run both. What is your main interest? Crossing big water is no fun in the illusion though it can be done. Extreme is a nice boat that will flat out run and run fairly skinny but you need more water to jump up on plane than the illusion. On either I would put max horsepower for best performance. I'd say the illusion for flats fishing/drifting or the extreme for wade fishing and big water. Majek will answer any specific questions you have and nearly an dealer can set you up with test rides in both.

I am in market as well. Have fished out of a 22 extreme a lot and really like them. Looking for real feedback on pros and cons to 25 extreme. I have searched a great deal on 2cool and while it's helped I still don't have all the data points I want. Ended up sending an email directly to majek for the remainder of my questions

Exactly right... I've owned both. Two very different boats for very different needs. How do you fish? If you fish ONLY SHALLOW water and don't mind getting beat to death in the slightest chop then the Illusion is great (and looks good too!).

If you don't ONLY fish shallow, trust me the Illusion is not the boat for you. I loved mine, it would run in very skinny water, BUT it will beat you to death in any kind of chop (down to a ripple).

The Etreme goes fast, handles chop like a dream, looks good and goes FAST (did I say that already)? I have a video of GPS on my Xtreme on YouTube - 72mph first time on the water....
The Etreme was a great boat for me for fishing Galveston and Sabine. Runs pretty shallow for a V hull (shallow V hull), gets you there fast and is very well built.

                Hope this helps... Good luck!

Here's my hang up. I fish Big lake, Sabine, trinity, and east Galveston bay. I fish redfish tournaments, guide wade fishing trips and trips during the summer, I fish mid bay reefs only when the weather right other wise I'm in protected areas.

Extreme fits the bill, but I also duck hunt the seadrift/poc area so that's why I was looking at the illusion. Plus the illusion has a ton of room even more than the extreme.

I don't cross the bay when it's rough with customers. I launch accordingly so I can have the best ride to where I want to go. I don't care overly much about speed I don't need a 60mph boat.

I'm also looking at the gulf coast sabercat and shoalwater 23 cat.

My blazer bay has tons of room, runs skinny, takes chop great, dry ride, and floats skinnier than my trolling motor will go. Ultimate bay 675.

I'm in the market for a new boat this year also. I really like the catamaran boats. I'm pretty sure I'm going with a Dargel HDX Kat, not sure if the 23 or 25. I don't fish much shallow water though. I've ridden in an Illusion and it was one of the roughest boats I've been in, never been in an Extreme.

If I had to pick out of that group I'd take the Shoalwater Cat. Fished out of them all but love those Shoalwaters. I can tell don't buy a Mowdy.I know you didn't mention it but I wouldn't even think about it.

Love my 2011 25+ Extreme. Handles chop well for being an un-lined hull, fishes pretty darn skinny and is very fast. Best all around boat I've ever owned.

Better keep a roll of duct tape handy to tape your privates to your leg when running in a chop
