    Need 12 volt help!!!!!!

The electric jack plate stopped working on my boat. I traced it down to a faulty circuit breaker. By using the screw driver as a jumper it would work, slowly but it would work.

So I came up with a temporary test solution and put a bolt in it. Now nothing works????

So I decided to charge the battery and this is what the charger is doing. Is my battery 100% dead?

Do you have a voltmeter? If so check it with that.

Was it a circuit breaker or a relay? That battery looks like it's fully charged because it's not taking any amps.

So sounds to me like that's a 40amp fuse. It should have worked by removing it and bolting the wires together.

Well it looks to be the worse case possible.

After much googling and cussing it has been confirmed that I'm getting power all the way to the jack plate. After I figured this out I pulled the ole hit it with a hammer trick and it started working. That means I have trouble inside a jack plate that is over a year old but only has 20 hours on it. Of course everyone is closed today soooo it will be Tuesday before I get to see how $$$$$$$ I am.

You might be able to rebuild the motor. Probably just needs new bushings like a starter motor rebuild.
