Had a similair wound when I tried to lift a gar up from behind his gills and it ended up sending a gar scale peice down into my hand. That broke off.
My body did same thing and went full blown attack mode on the foreign enemy. But eventually after 2 weeks I had to get a safety pin
    and dig it out myself.

I get the same thing all the time from cactus or mesquite needles. Usually takes a week or two to go away, but nothing big to worry about.

Keep an eye on it. Knock off the peroxide. It actually inhibits new skin cell growth. Ok to clean with it once, but that's it.

It looks 10x better tonight a still a little swollen.
Finally listened to his wife and lanced it open (to drain) instead of the little hole he poked in it and he is using the cream we have from a couple years ago when the oldest son had a spot on his knee that turned out to be staph.
Not sure why he wouldn't let me lance it open but he finally got it done

If I get a wound like that, I do pocket knife surgery & Bleach it with a q-tip. Or just pour a cap full in/over it. Once is usually enough. 😏 I have had "staph" also, that's why I do the bleach. It kills everything.

I think thats what the little Dutch boy did. Could be the cause of his problem.
