    Here I sit

Playing the shot over and over in my head. Management 8 that I was after finally showed himself for the first time all year. I was ecstatic, and came down with the fever immediately. Slowly got my bow up, and held that bugger for every bit of 30 minutes. That 8 just would not turn. I turned down several quartering to shots waiting for the right one. Finally, I made the slowest draw ever and got anchored without his spooky arse seeing me. Stayed anchored wait for his forward leg to step and open his vitals...for ever! Knowing I wasn't going to let down without him seeing me, I made a dumb split second decision to thread the needle tight behind his shoulder. I didn't get it tight enough I'm afraid. Shot was perfect up and down, but I'm afraid that buck is gut shot.

Mad at myself for not hanging in there a little longer for that leg to move forward, but praying I got liver. Think I'll give him a good 3 hours before looking. I have 5 guys here, so plenty of help thank goodness.

Only time the leg is in the way is if your shooting at the heart
If he was broad side and you hit 2-5" behind the leg you double lunged him

I hope you're right! So this is the buck I killed earlier in the year. He was double lunged although a little back than I prefer. This shot may have been just a touch farther back.

Oh yeah, he should be dead. Nearly every deer i have ever killed was shot in the same spot as in the picture. A few were a couple inches forward or back and all days ed pretty quick.

Did you check the arrow? on a broad side deer that will tell you exactly what to do. If it smells like guts wait. if it doesnt, go get him . No in between on that one.
