    Operation Orphans

I am so excited I just had to share. My FIL participates in this organization, and he has asked me to come down next weekend to help him with the hunt and guide some kiddos. It has been several years since the last time I did it and I had a blast with the kids. Unfortunately/fortunately for us all we saw were bucks and only does were on the hit list. We had hunted in the morning, so after the activity had stopped, he and I went for a walk-about. A very interesting young kid he was. He wanted to be a journalist and write. I thought it was interesting and encouraged him to pursue it. On our walk-about, he found a real nice turkey feather and he carried it around the rest of the day. My FIL didn't hunt the morning hunt and he wanted to go in the evening. He took the boy I had and told me to go sit in a blind across the ranch since we were one guide extra. This year I plan on getting both sits in with the kiddo! I was younger and didn't know better so I went and hunted by myself. Now I have a daughter who is 3, and time with a kid in the woods, heck there is nothing better. If you ever get a chance to tag along and help with a hunt, do it. You will be glad you did.

sorry for the long read, I am just excited.

Glad you have enjoyed it out there. It is quite an operation and they have positively influenced thousands of kids over the years. I hope that you and the child you are guiding have a great hunt and awesome experience.

I submitted my background check a little late this year and they had all they needed for this year. Should be good to go for next year though.
