    Feeder Question

Are the plastic type feeder barrels okay or will the squirrels and coons eat thru them?

    #2
Plastic barrels are fine. I would recommend having metal lid. Had a squirrell eat a hole into a plastic lid and fall in. He couldn't get back out. the smell and mess was horrible.

I have used plastic 55 gallon drums in the past and they worked out fine.

I had squirrels eat through a plastic lid too. Every time I walked up to the feeder bunches of squirrels would all try to make a hasty exit through the hole. I never allowed the corn level to get low enough so that they could not get out.

we have used those blue ones from wal-mart and academy for years and there is not one sign of damage. now they have those metal rings around to hold the lid on so maybe that is why they have not chewed at that.
