    Feeder leg pipes?

I'd like to raise two of our feeders a bit higher. The cheap aluminum multi-piece poles that come with the Moultrie feeders aren't what I want. They are too short, and bend too easily.

I would appreciate some recommendations for pipe size and where to purchase.

    Thank you.

    All the best,
    Glenn

I bought 10 foot long 1 inch black steel pipe from home depot. Fits right into the short attachment pipes that are bolted on the feeder barrel. They have male threads on one side and female threads on the other. They work great!

EMT conduit, get same size or just larger than the existing legs.

Can get at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

        Sch 40 pipe is overkill.

I just used one 1'' galv. section cut it in equal sections. bought one 10 section of 1 1/4 welded them together. came out to be about 6 feet 5 inches.

I like long legs that stick inside the upper short legs, so water doesn't get inside the legs and rust them out.

Galvanized cyclone fence pipe post will work great. 2-3/8" diameter. You can get them in various lengths from 6' up to 12'. I've used them on several feeders as well as other peeps feeders.

Not to hijack..but to add to...

what about 14 - 15' legs used for winch up feeders. Finding them is difficult. What I have done is get "seconds" drill stem pipe.

yeah, I know it is over kill, but 18.00 / stick is the cheapest route I have found.
