String Tracker? Are they still around

I remember the first time I saw one of these was on one of my Monster Bucks Videos back in the 90's. Bob Foulkrod was using one down in the South Texas brush. I have googled and can't find anything online about the company. Do they still exist? I knew a couple of folks back in the 90's that used them with great success and was thinking about getting one after my lost buck ordeal this past weekend. I don't like losing a dove, more less a nice buck. Thanks in advance for any help

I thought the string tracker was one of the worst archery inventions ever. I hated that thing and not to mention I would go to day leases and see string all over the ground. Yuck!

anything that would keep me from feeling like I feel right now with a nice buck laying somewhere dead in the Shackleford Cnty. Brush sits well with me (even if it does look goofy)

I saw one at Gander Mtn in Spring, TX last night.....

I thought about getting one for hog hunting in a flooded area I have to hunt......It's hard to find blood in a foot of water....and the "1 hitter-quitter head-shot" doesn't always work...

This the one you are talking about??? They had 3 or 4 on the shelf at Gander, I don't know if it's old merchandise or if they still stock the product.....

My lease partner bought one and it did affect arrow flight for him. He refused to use it. I have wondered about the bow bug...the transmitter thing and how well it works. I feel for you Codie.

I think that Buff tried out the Bow bug and it came back with not very good results. Maybe he will chime in.

i have used one some for hunting pigs at night and have had no problems with it. Of course i was shooting a heavy arrow at only like 250fps. any faster or lighter and i could see there being problems with arrow flight

I owned one once. Dang string snagged on every bush in the woods! Spent more time dealing with string than hunting. And in spite of what they claim - it DID affect arrow flight.

in cotulla a few yrs ago one of the guys used one on a hog and we followed string everywhere in the woods only to have it snag on the thick south texas brush and break. Never found the hog and there was string everywhere.

I have felt the feeling you have and it is not a good one.

like old trout lines people have left across lakes?

exactly like that! I think I am going to give it a try and see what I think. I guess you just have to buy replacement spools to put in there after every shot? Wonder if the animal gets to the end of the string on a dead run if you should just hold on for deer life or let go of the bow and watch it drag.

Same here. Was spot n' stalking pigs with a StringTracker - been slipping thru the brush for quite a while when I realized I was trailing about half a mile of string behind me. Took it off and never used it again.
