    Question about Hoyt Cams

Okay, I've got a question about how to change this module. I've got a Hoyt Carbon Spyder 30 ZT with the #3 cam. It's currently set at the 28.5 and I'm unfamiliar with how they change their draw lengths. I'm unfamiliar with hoyts as this is my first but I fell in love with this bow and now I've got one on the way lol. I need to change the draw length to 27.5 but I'm uncertain as to how to do that. Help??

You can't. Only goes to 28 with that cam if I remember correctly. You'd need new limbs, cams, string and cables.

I think you're right about the cam change but why would she need a limb swap? And the strings and cables gotta be swapped too?

Edit, looks like he's probably correct.

Lol. There's no "probably" to it. We've done it many times for folks who think they got a great deal on a used bow and then End up spending as much on parts to meet their draw length requirements.

That's where you get screwed on draw specific cams, which I think Hoyt had A, B and C for that bow, which covered their DL's. So that does make sense why you'd need 3 different lengths of strings and cables. What a pain in the ***

Only person to get "screwed" are those not doing their research on cam specific bows before they buy one.

Yep Hoyt #3 cam has a draw length from 28-30 range
                  #2 cam is 26-28 range
                  #1 cam is 24-26.5

Well I can still draw it at 28" so I'm not freaked out about purchasing the bow. But thank you for all the information.

                      If you truly are a 27.5" draw you'd need a #2 cam with a D modules

Yes, I read about that but what I did not know and as fishindad so eloquently pointed out.....I didn't know you have to change everything out including the limbs. Not just the cams.

Should be just a cam/string swap.

Another reason to support your local archery shop that is your bows brand dealer.
