Need education on Bow String Material?

I've noticed a lot of the big string manufactures offer different types of string. I've honestly never paid any attention to that before. Like 452x, 8125G, BCY X and I'm probably missing others.

I just wanted to see what the difference was from actual users. Is one better for competition shooting vs hunting vs extreme weather vs less creep, etc.

I see a lot of the manufactures offering nitro balls. Do these actually help speed and do they have any negative effects?

    Thanks

452X seems to have less stretch. 8125 I found to have a little more stretch and did not last as long.
BTW that is my two cents worth

Lots of good string material out there. The standard is 452x

452x has more vectran than bcy-x which makes it fuzz more. I went with X for my new set after using 452x for a few years. I almost went with Fury which has no vectran but decided to stick with bcy.

The effect of speed nocks depends on the bow model, makes a positive difference for some not necessarily all.

452x is pretty much the standard right now, it does fuzz a little but it has exceptional creep and stretch characteristics.

Fury is pretty new but is a phenomenal string material as well. I have only built two strings (sets) so far with Fury but I really like it. I'm not ready to stop building with 452X just yet, but maybe when it is time to reorder it will all be Fury.

BCY-X is the most flexible compound out there right now. It offers the best durability, stability and speed of any compound on the market. Don't take my word for it, PM 60x. Brad could shoot any compound out there and he is shooting X, that should tell you something.

60X has a nice writeup on their website about materials. I know X is their material of choice. Here is the article. https://www.60xcustomstrings.com/bre...ing-materials/
