I Love Christmas but I do not do any shopping period! I fund said shopping and show up for the party. My wife does all the shopping and we do not buy for one another. If she wants something she gets it and I do the same. The family time and the special program at church is all I need! Merry Christmas and God Bless!!!

I like the Grinch before he went all soft, but then if you think about it the Grinch didn't hate Christmas he hated all the ballyhoo which accompanies a materialistic world's Christmas. Once he saw the real reason for the season by removing the materialistic, his 'Heart' changed. Maybe most of America needs a Grinch to steal Christmas.

I can remember getting a small brown paper bag with an apple, orange, walnut and peppermint candy. I was a happy child

I'm with you. I hate shopping in stores and would rather buy online. I have no idea what to by my wife every year for her birthday and Christmas because I buy her whatever she wants all year long. I asked her last night for the tenth time what would you like and she couldn't tell me so I said do you remember the last time I bought you anything for your your birthday or Christmas and she couldn't. Oh the pressure! I can't stand it. My kids gifts get used for about a week and then are left alone for ever.

Just another day for me, I don't buy presents and don't care if anyone gets me anything or not. My family gets together and spends a hour or two together and eats then parts our ways until the next holiday. My wife hates it because she loves this time of year lol.

My son gets so much crap thru out the year that he doesn't think anything special of the gift my wife and family get gim . just a big waste of money in the end. I tried to use logic with the wife, if were gonna get family presents why not just tell them a dollar amount
Then they can spend that amount on their selves and get what they want

I've got it made...wife & I decided long ago we would not get each other gifts. If we want something our want to give something, we'll just do it but not for the days/holidays it's normally or traditionally expected.

Only gift I buy is a bottle of 1942 Don Julio for my Dad for Christmas...wife gets the card & takes care of everybody. Life is good!!

                  Merry Christmas...

Oh wait.......Christmas lights on the house? Nope, none. I very much believe in Jesus Christ. Am I the one you will see at the Pearly Gates? More then likely not.

Just to clarify and no one thinks I am some weird Satanic worshipping feen. In case religion comes up or has crossed your mind reading this thread.

I can remember that when I was a kid in the 60's. I also remember looking at the Sears and Roebuck Christmas catalog over and over. My folks did not have much and any gift we got at Christmas was appreciated.
Different times and different people now. I do not go shopping, and only go to one family function. I buy my wife a Christmas card every year and help her put up the tree. We do not spend much money on each other and we like it that way. We like to be simple nowadays.

I don't shop. For as long as we/I have been married my wife and kids do all the shopping. My wife purchases what she wants for Christmas as well as our daughters etc.

I don't wrap. My wife wraps all the presents, yes even hers. I absolutely despise stores of any kind. If I have to go I know exactly what I am purchasing and I am out.

Many moons ago I tried buying Christmas presents. It seems I could never get it right. Now they purchase what they want and there are no hiccups. For me I usually have one or two items and they are done. In the past they have given me a gift card which I use online (no stores).

Christmas is overhyped in my opinion. Too much into material things, lights etc. The meaning always seems to be overshadowed by materialistic items. That's me and I guess I will never change.

I am only 36, I have two kids. Daughter almost 3, and son year and a half. I have been this way pretty much my whole life. In every way you have mentioned. I won't change either.

I'm 30. My wife and I find ourselves focusing on His birth throughout the year, so this time of year is just adding a few gifts, decorations, and fun food. And this is our first year with our new 4 yo son, so it's been a blast introducing him to our Christmas traditions and making new ones.

                            May your Christmases be merry.

I buy one gift every year and it is for my wife. She takes care of the rest. Yes, I am a Scrooge.
