So between myself and buddies I bring hunting we have killed 10 to 12 yotes since the beginning of deer season all out of one or two stands and I saw 6 to 8 more yesterday. I have killed 8 myself since November 9th so needless to say we have a bit of a yote problem.
This am I decided to bring my AR with me and shoot at them as they run across the road and sling some lead considering this is the last day I'll be here and shot a nice buck day before yesterday. Well a yote pops out about 240 and I shoot as he's trotting across the road and missed. He then turns back and I shoot again and he turns and runs back the other way off into the brush. At this point I have an idea where he's going and make my way to the bone yard at the back of our ranch. I get closer to the gut pile and I can see something just spooked the birds off the dead animals so I figured it was either me or the yote. I begin creeping closer and can see the yote eating at the carcass through the brush and decide there is no way I can get closer(25 yards) and get around the brush to get a clear shot so I pick a small opening and shoot and I missed again[emoji23]. At this point I'm like this dog is in Mexico right now and I start to stand up and I see fit through the brush so I squat back down and shoot again! Yes I missed again!
So now I'm ticked off! I just stand up and walk around the brush to the opening of the bone yard and start looking around walking under the thick mesquite looking at how the yotes had scattered the caracass and bones over the years . As I start making my way back out of the brush and come to a big cactus I start to walk around it me and the yote come face to face at 10 to 15 feet......
