Their "cities" are really liberal. They get a lot of California transplants.

I love going to Missoula for both the fishing and the town, but the people in town will make you think you are in Austin

That's what I've been told as well. Certain ranchers I know are beyond fed up with California transplants up there. I'll be staying out of the bigger towns as much as possible.

I will say this. People do seem to be more accepting of other people's views there. I have had many a conversations in bars in Missoula with people from the left and they never got heated. Laughs were had and drinks were paid for. In my experience, it's kind of a unique phenomenon.
