    Is draining the swamp possible?

    I believe so.

I voted for Trump as the lesser of two evils, with the hope he can/will change the direction of our government.

So far, his cabinet/department appointments are a little re-assuring, especially at EPA and DOE. DOE gets Rick Perry, but I am not a particular fan of Perry.

A couple of days ago, I read the following blog post on 74-question memo sent to the DOE from the Trump transition team. Here is an analysis of the questionnaire, by an experienced business leader. He explains why the questions are pertinent and why they are strategic/tactical to an incoming group that wants to weed out the crap. It is a long read, but worth it.

Guest Post by Willis Eschenbach Over at the Washington Post, Chris Mooney and the usual suspects are seriously alarmed by a memo sent out by the Transition Team at the Department of Energy. They de…

The DOE responded to the questionnaire, via the Washington Post. The author of the original analysis on Whats-up-with-that, made another post analyzing the DOE response. The DOE is about to be fixed. Another long read, but worth it.

Guest Post by Willis Eschenbach In a previous post, The DOE vs Ugly Reality, I discussed how a businessman takes over a government department. In this case it’s the Department of Energy (DOE)…

I have worked in the Defense industry for nearly thirty years. I see the incompetence of government on a daily basis.

Mook may not have hope anymore, but I do.

That is an awesome read but way down in the second piece is the following:
Latest news on the questionnaire is that: “The questionnaire was not authorized or part of our standard protocol,” Trump’s transition team said in a statement to The Washington Post. “The person who sent it has been properly counseled.”

    Wonder if that is true?

The problem isn't the water in the swamp, it's the cruddy, slimy silt that's settled in the bottom of the swamp. You may drain it, but unless it's completely remediated, it's going to be a swamp again, more filthy and slimy before with all the new silt mixing with the old.

Wake me up when we are completely restructuring and remediation the swamp

Read further down. Regardless of whether the questionnaire was authorized, the response is telling, and it got the results needed.

The only problem with draining the swamp is that leeches can live on dry land.

No doubt the very broad result was needed, but if the detailed questions are not posed specifically and answers demanded nothing will change. A better reply by "the team" would have been "It was authorized and everyone that does not have the answer to every question can plan on retiring on January 20"

                    Well he's sure trying to...

"Drain the swamp" was a favorite chant during President Donald Trump's campaign, and it looks like he's kept his promise at the office of Veterans Affairs. A new report says more than 500 employees have been fired at the agency, and another 200 have been suspended. The Daily Caller reported on stati...

It would be great for this country to drain the swamp of many more lifetime politicians

Anyone else getting tired of the Congress and Senates inability to compromise and get anything done.

They are a waste of OUR tax payer dollars paid into the system to pay their salaries and perks.

America needs to speak up at the polls

With a couple of 2" diesel water pumps you can drain a swamp in no time at all

The less the House and Senate do, the better. Let's face it, when was the last time you saw GOOD legislation? When was the last time a law was passed that made sense, addressed a real issue, and accounted for and minimized it's negative impacts? I honestly can't recall one recently. While they are most certainly a waste of the taxpayer's money, I'd rather they stayed in deadlock than passed garbage bills. If a machine does nothing but pile excrement on your doorstep, do you really want it running smoothly and at maximum efficiency?
