New neighbor at the lease

Drove out to the lease today just to get out of town. As I headed down the road to the gate I see that a drilling rig has gone up on the property southwest of us. My first thought was "dang it, just one more thing to spook the deer". As I calmed down realized that they will get used to it and it will become the new normal. I'm glad that folks are working.

When 18 two megawatt wind turbines went up on our lease we thought the hunting was over for sure. They hydromulched all around the pad areas and deer were grazing on the new food plots within a few days of the seed coming up and turning green all the while these enormous blades were turning and making the loud whoop whoop noise.

Hunted 100yds from a rig three years ago. Deer didn't mind and covered any noise you made.
