Sorry about the drawing, just learning. You can see the numbers I wrote on the tines, that would explain it.

When you compare the guys thumbs to the tines they are touching, they don't seem so long after all. Unless he has huge hands. Great looking buck regardless. He's still 163"!

Yeah... but the deer only scores 174 gross and that is the wrong way to net him out.

Any scorer worth his salt would know that the little point wouldn't be a G-2.

Just because a point comes off of the top of the beam does not make it a typical point.

          I agree!

Gene Wensel "Nets are for fish."

"There are only two scores I care about. Too small and Holy Crap!" Me.

That deer falls into the second catagory.

I didn't read where the gross was 174 and I wouldn't think that the 2nd point should be counted either but that was the only thing I could come up withy outside of him holding it way in front of him.

163 my backside. It would take me about 0.163 of a second to decide to shoot that monster.

ok true, but do we know if the deer was scored as a typical or a non typical.

                      typical...

Non-typical would make less since since you would have to subtract twice the length of that little asymmetry point from 163 to get his typical net.

if that point isnt the g2 then its an abnormal point wouldnt that make him a non typical

one abnormal point doesnt make a deer non typical. It's the hunters choice what he wants him to be scored as, but you will never see a deer with that little abnormls be scored as non typical.

i understand that but imo, if a deer has adnormol points off a typical frame that would make him a non typical.
                            typical

                            non-typical

has kicker on g2, abnormal point in turn makes him a non typical

I understand what your saying but that is just not the way it works. One little kicker does not make a deer non typical though you can call that point a non typical or abnormal point, it does not mean you score the deer non typical.

so if one abnormal point doesnt make the deer a non typical then how many does it take.
