When I think BIG BUCKS I automatically think northern states like KS, IA, IL and so on. What counties in Texas come to mind when you think BIG BUCKS in Texas? If you could own land to hunt in any Texas county which would it be? I know there can be a one off monster pop up in some sleeper county but which counties produce year after year big bucks? Im talking low fence free range deer and just live in an area that gives them what they need to grow and just have good genes to do so every year.

I think of Maverick, Webb and all the rest in the Golden Triangle, but in recent times there are big deer coming from north and east TX too. Bottom line, it is where you find them..!Comment

The most Boone and Crockett deer have been killed in Maverick - both typical and non typical. That goes for the past 10 years and also the past 30 years. In fact Maverick has quite a few more entries than the second place county.
Maverick also ranks first is one category and second in another I believe with the most B&C entries in the entire country and Canada.
