    Bald Eagle Sighting FM 1488 @ I45

Witnessed a Bald Eagle snatch a fish out of the retention pond next to FM1488 and I 45 today at 1320hrs. I was on the circle loop exit off FM1488 on to the I45 feeder road. The retention pond is on the SE Quadrant of that intersection. Tried to stop and take a picture but couldn't because of the traffic behind me honking, at least I tried to get a picture. Anyone live in that neck of the woods, maybe get a confirmation photo?

Really awesome for this land lover to see one in this rural area!

I saw one about a month and a half ago just north of Weatherford. Wish I could have stopped for a picture but was on the highway and no where safely to turn around. It was perched high in a tree.

I saw one off veterans memorial the other day with what looked like mouse in its mouth. I thought I was crazy, didn't know that they were around here.

They have a very distinct call as well. I usually hear them before I see them. Found a pair that have a nest on spring creek also

Anywhere there is a crow look for eagles. They are cool to watch catch fish out of the water, but most of the time they are neck deep in road kill along side the road.

I'm always surprised when people are surprised to see them.

I drive by there everyday, I have never seen one, but I see them at my house in New Waverly.

I saw eating a roadkill deer Wednesday in Columbus.

Tried to get a picture but I guess I got to close.
