    Need Dog Advice

    Needing some help here guys/gals.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction or give some advice.

My Weim mix bit for the second time.

The first time was a furniture delivery guy and it was on our property and I felt like she was just protecting the family. The guy was understanding and nothing has happened since.

Well last night she went after the guy that runs cows on the property next to us. He is around alot and not a stranger to the area. So pi$$3d off at her. This was unprovoked as I know him fairly well, he would not mess with her just for grins. He had his back to her and she got a hold of him.

She has been locked up in the shop since.

We have cattle fencing but the dogs roam around freely between the grandparents and our property.

I could build her a pen, thought about that but the thing is, I don't trust her anymore. When will she snap or whatever next. On a kid?!?! God forbid.

So i'm kind of lost on what to do. Are there places that take dogs like this?

Looking for someone that has dealt with this before to let me know what you did.

    So angry with her.

I would take her to the vet and pay what it cost to go home empty handed.

Hump it 'till it pees . What is she mixed with? My wife has a weim. While she sounds like a killer, she not aggressive at all.

I wouldn't keep a dog that would bite unprovoked...my trust would be shaken by this point & the dog gone.

I think you already know what you have to do. The chances of re-homing are very slim. If you did re-home her human contact would be very minimal. Which can be cruel to a dog that is used to a family. Lock her up in a permanent enclosure or euthanize. You don't want to live in fear of what your dog may do to someone or some kid.

How old is the animal and how long have you had it?

She attacked and bit a familiar person from behind? Bad news. You're lucky your neighbor didn't sue you for half a million dollars. Dogs either have an inhibition against biting people, or they don't. Yours doesn't. 99% of dog experts would say put her down.

Dog rescue groups will never take a biter; they don't want the liability if someone adopts the dog and then gets bitten.

BTW... is she spayed? If not, there's a very good chance her puppies will be biters, too, another reason to take her out of the gene pool. Sorry you have to deal with this.

Dogs don't bite out of the blue. Something provoked the bites, even if just an underlying anxiety issue. She has anxiety about unfamiliar people visiting the property and something is triggering the bite.
Not saying the bite isn't an overreaction on the dog's part but - if you are interested in saving her - you need to figure out the triggers and manage the reactivity issue.

Depends on her age. If shes young, it can be corrected. A good obedience school can do that. Heck they can do old dogs too. How much you want to spend?

My dogs have never bit, but if they did, I would be willing to spend thousands to re-train them rather than put them down. But that's just me, and lots of folks are not in the same situation and my not have the resources.

She is a re-home from TBH.

She has been a sweetheart to our family but what makes a dog do this crap?!
