    Polaris Ranger Roof question

I have a Ranger 500 mid size. It has no roof. I've been thinking about getting one but I've heard it's a bad thing to have if you trailer it a lot.

Any truth to that? I will be pulling it on a trailer on several 100 mile plus trips.

    Any suggestions from the GS?

Never had any issues trailering mine and it's been towed all over the state.

It's a metal roof so if you're talking about a plastic roof I have no clue.

I'm a slow learner. I had a metal roof made after loosing 2 plastic ones.

That's what I'm hearing about the plastic ones.

Get metal- steel or aluminum or thick wood, that way you can stand on it if need be.

I stand on mine all the time to do work on blinds or trim limbs too high to reach otherwise.

Plastic roofs are a problem. When being hauled they catch the wind and can tear up. Not a big deal for short distances (i.e. 20-30 miles here and there), but definitely a problem for longer hauls.

I've had a metal roof on my last 2 Rangers and they have towed just fine. Also, it's nice to be able to stand on the roof if need be.

I have a Triple C steel roof on my 900xp and it's been to Colorado 3 times and all over Texas without any issues. If I had to do it over again, I'd get Aluminum cause the steel is rusting pretty bad in some spots. I did put some large washers where my roof bolts come through to avoid any weak spots.

I highly recommend Sean here on TBH. He just made us one and it's fantastic. Great guy to work with. His shop is in Midlothian.

I have luminum sprayed in bedliner. I stand on it on the regular.

                  Youll regret plastic

Mine is metal sprayed with bedliner. Longer in front and back to keep rain off. I stand on it to fill my feeders and I'm 300 lb. Don't go plastic !

                        Thanks folks!

I'm convinced plastic is throwing money out of the window now.
