Doesn't take long. If you want a "confirmed account" which is required by some sellers, they will make two small deposits into your bank account and you have to wait on those to go through and then confirm the amounts to show you have access. At least that's how they used to do it.

I recommend opening a separate account from your primary checking account. Whenever you want to make a purchase, just transfer the necessary funds over. That way IF something did happen, they wouldn't get squat. But FWIW, I have never ad a problem in 5 years of using Paypal (all the while knocking on wood while saying this).

                blue tick,

before you sign up for PP, PLEASE look around for another option

PayPal and it's owners (Ebay) are huge contibuters to help fund anti-gun and anti-hunting legislation. Basically they are extremely against the 2nd Amendment - a bunch of Kalifornia liberals .

By using PP, you're helping the anti's take away our gun/hunting rights.

PP also has filters to recognize key "firearms" related words when you describe transaction details. PP can and will terminate your account if you violate their strict policy against buying hunting/shooting/firearms items ... i.e. ammo, clips, brass, bullets, etc......

                just a head's up

here is a breakdown of contributions to the recent election campaigns

$1,000 from 2 people to Republicans
$3,502 from 7 people to Democrats

% of donations going to Democrats from PayPal: 77.8%

                Employer: eBay (Donations)
$68,942 was given by people who identified their employer as "eBay".
$7,565 from 9 people to Republicans
$61,377 from 67 people to Democrats

Don't CC companies charge about the same in fees? I don't here anybody telling business owners not to accept Visa.MC/AMEX. Paypal gives us normal non business owners options on how to pay.

CB if you know of any option out there I'm all ears.
