Duck hunt with the kids

My kids both decided they wanted to go duck hunting with me this morning. This was my daughters first duck hunt and my sons second. They both deer hunt with me a lot and my daughter has taken several animals with gun/xbow. She's can't handle a shotgun good yet but after today I think she is motivated to be behind the trigger next year. Slow morning, most of the birds that were here earlier in the week left but had a few participants. Kids had a blast and were even naming the birds. Think I got some future duck hunting buddies in my future

Very cool! You may already know what shotgun you want to get her but I will say the Beretta shotguns with the kickoff have amazingly low recoil. Might want to check into them.

Awesome. I bought my 7 year old a mossberg pump 410. She shoots it really well. Hopefully will get her first duck soon

Nope. Sold the Skeeter right after T was born. Got a tin can now to take the kids fishing and fish out of kayak more than anything. Just really don't have the time anymore.

Buddy has a Charles Daily Youth 20 auto he is letting me borrow for her to try. She is having trouble holding up the gun and controlling it. I won't let her shoot it until we have that mastered. Hopefully working with her this summer I can have her ready for dove season next year.

Yep, kids will change your life and your priorities . I've got two grandboys now.
