I've never killed one with my bow. Killed several with my shotgun and rifle. They all ran (not far) except 1 which dropped. None kicked at the shot.

They are tough and can travel fast. If you hit heart lung area, he'll be dead but may have gone 100 yards in the 5 seconds it took him to die.
