How do you fly with cash on you?

I'm new to flying and am getting ready for my first big boy fishing trip. Is it a bad idea to carry cash?

I guess it all depends on how much cash. I've flown many times with 2k-5k and always just kept it on me. Would never even consider to check a bag with a bunch of cash.

I flew a cessna 150 with 14k in my pockets once

As for flying commercial i font think anything under 10k is a problem

I didn't know if my pockets and wallet would be searched. It would be less than 5k

I packed $9500 for an elk hunt in my pocket. I didn't put it through the X-ray. The body scan picked it up. Told them I didn't trust it leaving my sight and it wasn't a problem.

Before the invention of draw cards I would fly with 10, 15, 30 thousand in cash to pay my crews a draw while on the job. I would tell them I had it and wouldn't let it leave my sight, never had an issue.

I have taken $5K to Africa before. I kept in in a money belt under my shirt. Went through several body scans and never had a problem. I think as long as you keep it under $10K and don't let it out of your sight, you will be fine.

Yep always in the front left pocket. I like to carry about 2or3k and a variety of card.

just keep it under 10K, rubber band front pocket. never had a problem.
