Skunked in Kansas
Went to Kansas last week for the first time, saw several 150-170 class bucks but couldnt close the deal, limb in the way, just out of range etc. but had a blast. Landowner came by every day and talked with us and when we left he said we could come back every year as far as he was concerned. Said we were the kind of hunters he liked ( we passed on small bucks and respected his ranch) and said he would hold a week for us around the rut till we found out if we get drawn. Can't wait till next year.

I've done my pheasant hunting and was shut out two years back to back. It was still a blast. For me the thrill of the hunt beats not hunting at all.Comment

. I can't believe he didn't hunt the last morning. I even offerred my handwarmerrs before I left. I am hoping to go back next week before gun season opens. I'll keep you updated.
