    HughesNet

Anybody use HughesNet for their camp ?

We don't have very good service to no service at our camp?

I wonder what kind of setup that I could use to get HughesNet placed and what kind of hardware I would need to provide service to most of our camp. Our camp is generally one road that is about 100 yards long with camp trailers on each side of the road.

HugesNet said they thought it would work no problem with a strong wireless router, but BestBuy guy said he didn't know if the wireless router would work at a distance of 150 feet in each direction.

I think you would have to get a extender to cover that much area

"Extender" is the term that the BestBuy guy and I talked about, but I wonder if a quality extender would provide good service to the camp area that would be about 150-250 feet in each direction.

As long as it works at your trailer site, just have everyone hang out there.

          Funny guy here... ;-)
Think of the gas I would save, right ?
We just need to make sure it works around the pit in the cul-de-sac.

We have Hughes Net at our house, because that's the only thing available. There is nothing I deal with that works worse or causes me more misery. If there is any other option I would go with it and save yourself the trouble.

When I last investigated HughesNet the price was very high for a very small amount of data each month. Seems like it was $300 in equipment up front and ~$150 a month for 5Gig of data. 2 year contract.
