    Reviews on a "Long" tractor?

From what I've heard they may not have been all that bad from that era. I can't recall the exact details of that brand at the moment. No personal experience with them.

Actually I just posted about this morning. My dad has had one for years. It has been a great tractor. It sat in a barn for years and had issues because of that. My dad found someone in Shreveport a couple of years back that came out and worked on it. Now it is in the same shape. The guy that worked on it 2 years ago doesn't work on them anymore because of his health and my dad cannot find anyone else that will work on it.

They don't build them anymore and it is very hard to find anyone to work on them and it is very hard to find parts.

Before you decide to purchase research if you can find parts local, you would probably have to order most online at longparts.com. They don't have a great following but they are not bad tractors. 510 made between 1979-1990, they were made in Romania.

thanks for the quick input guys!! I thinks its a pretty good deal. fella is asking 3k for the tractor, loader, bucket, front and rear hay forks, 5' box blade, 5' shredder. looks like the hydraulic hoses will need to be replaced, and it needs a battery. trucked was being used regularly about 2 years ago. im just looking for something to leave at a lease place to hay with. that sound like a fair deal??

Parts are difficult to find. My stepdad had one that I believe had clutch problems or something similar. I just remember it was litterly in two pieces and pulled apart for months. He couldn't get parts or parts he got were wrong. Ended up just selling in in two pieces because of the headache.

That's a fair deal if the tractor is running. Just heed the warnings about parts.

I had a 610 for about ten years. Old heavy simple tractor. Got it after a sleeve rebuild @ 6000 hrs. Longs and leaks go together. And don't loose prime on the diesel. They are a pain to prime. Other than that it was a good unit. Traded it in on a new tractor @12000hrs.
