              Great deer! A big spike is indeed a rarity... Though this one was shot as a spike, he is actually a 4 point, but one antler indeed does not fork hence the "spike" classification...

                    That's crazy, my cousin shot one in East TX about 7 years ago that we figured was about 4.5 and had 17" spikes

                          A friend of mine (first year hunter) text me a picture last year of a similar spike he had shot. He said "I'm just gonna cut the horns off, not gonna mount him." I said ok, thinking he was gonna cut off the skull base. I text him a couple days later and asked him to measure the inside spread, just for laughs because it looked like he would be a legal 13" also. He actually cut the antlers off individually! I was sick! His deer though!
