    Mathews chill R shooters ?

Looking at a clean used 60# Chill R, and was wanting to hear your thoughts on the bow before I try it. I was hoping with the speed it has that it might translate to a decent bow for my short draw length. Anyways your thoughts on draw, accuracy, sound etc. post pics if you gottem' thanks

I shoot a Chill R and I have nothing negative to say about the bow. has a good draw cycle and pretty solid back wall. Quiet too.

A friend of mine just got one of these a few months ago. He likes it and has made a few kills with it already. I shot it as well, and I was a fan. No noise, no hand shock even without a stabilizer, and it hits hard. His is the 70# version with the limbs cranked down. The draw is a little stiff to me up front and through the first quarter, but then smooths out real nice and hits a good back wall.

Solid choice. Still my favorite Mathews ever and I've had a few.

My son shots a Chill R and he seems to really like it. His is the 70# version and I believe his draw length it at 29". That thing is fast and it hits hard with the FMJs he's shooting. I believe he had to go to a stiffer spin if I remember correctly. At first he had some issues grouping but the 300s seem to be flying very well.

have you played with the letoff? is the factory letoff / back wall good or is it worth getting the 85% rock mods?

I had a used one in my hands the other day. Really liked it compared to the newer bows. OP, if you can get a good deal on it, i would go for it. Hard hitting bow and a proven killer.

My wife ended up taking home a fully loaded pink accent Chill SDX and I placed an order for a Halon 6. Expensive trip to the bow shop

I have a Chill R and as everyone has said it is a great bow. My DL is 27.5 and my bow is set at 61# for hunting. I shoot GT Hunter Pro 400 with a 100 gr. Slick Trick Mag BH and that set up works very well.
Here is some data from this summer:
                Chill R 75% Mods @ 55# 27.5 DL Avg. fps 273.5 with GT Hunter Pro 400, 375 gr. 27.25"

                Chill R 85% Mods @ 55# 27.5 DL Avg. fps 267.3 with GT Velocity Pro 400, 345 gr. 27.25"

Love mine. I see no reason to get another bow.

What really drew me to it was the longer ata length, and the ability to get a little extra speed to shoot a heavier arrow. I have never shot it through a chronograph but it flings my 460grn arrows pretty quick. Its super smooth, quiet, and has a pretty solid back wall. I absolutely love mine!
