Just bought a place out in the sticks with no internet capability. There is no LOS systems that can be seen. Only thing is Hughsnet and I was not a fan from a long time ago. Anyone have any suggestions on hot spots, Jetpacks through Verizon or any other carriers? Any input would be great.

Tried the satellite stuff and it was just too dang slow plus EXPENSIVE!!! I cancelled it a year early. We just use AT&T hot spots and they always work and are much less expensive and are plenty fast for us... If you have cell reception, you can get a Wilson Electronics signal booster that will keep you connected pretty much all the time. I had terrible cell reception in Kingwood and after Ike, when I put on a new roof with TechShield, I had NO reception... after adding the booster, I had better reception inside my house than outdoors.
EDIT: just to clarify, we are out in the sticks now too and the cellular hot spots have given us the best service we have tried. FTR, we cancelled Excede Satellite service... 20GB + Liberty plan/month... over $150/month and it was slow plus heavy clouds...nuthin'... No thank you!Last edited by SaltwaterSlick; 12-06-2016, 10:44 AM.

Hot spot is the way I am leaning as we don't do Netflix although I do like to stream music videos on occasions with You Tube. I just didn't know how much Data I would need to do the hot spot thing. We have shared 3 gig between the wife and I and that seems to go fast. Still researching. I hear unlimited is not really unlimited as they squeeze them down to where they crawl but that is just what I heard.
