Need info on "Rooting" an Android Samsung S5

Back in the day I had a rooted S3 I think it was. Anyway there were forums dedicated to rooting phones. If you type in the googles and search rooting galaxy S5, should have multiple forums pop up

I have a Verizon S5, and I'm in the same position. For my version, Verizon has locked it down pretty tight and cannot be done while running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. I would have to downgrade and then go through a bunch of crap to root it. I found all my info on "xda forums". Those guys eat, sleep, and breathe that stuff. If it can be done, the will have a thread about it.

Rooting gives you admin access to all areas of the phone.

I rooted a S5 (sprint). If you have not upgraded to Marshmallow yet, it is pretty easy. If you have upgraded to Marshmallow, you will have to downgrade. Don't know what is involved in that process as I have never done it.
