Just for comparison, I had an 05 Chevy CC z71 and had just the torsion bars leveled with 285/70/17s. If I remember right, I had some more clearance if I wanted something a little bigger so if you ago with the 2"/2.5" like you are saying, I don't see you having issues with the 285/75s. You might could possibly fit a 35" equivalent but being an SUV instead of truck I don't know if there is any difference in stock ride height that might make a difference after the lift

Think one time back in 2009 or 2010 I got some 285/70/17 Hankook MTs for $800-900. But I got the buddy deal on those. Cooper STMaxxs were $1200 I think, two sets of Goodyear DuraTrac were pushing $1500 and I did get some Toyo A/Ts for $1100 back in 2014. Used to be no problem finding a set of tires under $1000 when I had a truck with 16s but that too was 2008 and prior. But I know there for a while tire prices have been pretty stiff in recent years from China's rubber hoarding, or so I was told that was the reason.
