I just can't catch a break

Had some vacation time to kill, and since the hunting in East Texas has been slow I thought I would head south and help a buddy out. So yesterday I head down to his family's place between Victoria and Goliad to help fill the seven doe permits he has. I get down here and the weather is killing me. It is in the low 80's and no deer moving. He said to go ahead and kill a buck if I see a good one but between yesterday afternoon and this morning I have seen exactly two deer- a yearling single horned spike and a small yearling doe that probably wouldn't go 50 lbs. Set up in a blind right now overlooking a feeder on one side and a stock tank on the other. Maybe something will come in before dark to water before bedding down.

Ya'll are all right- this beats working and is the closest I will probably get to hunting south Texas. The wife told me to quit coming home empty handed so I am doing my best to make momma happy...

I heard there was a guy talking in McDonalds in San Augustine about a buck he shot but couldn't find. Maybe you can go give him some help locating his deer.

The deer have been moving mostly at night around this part of the world. Due to pressure I think. I have a cattle lease in that area 1800 acres that never has been hunted deer aren't moving there either.
