Hog hunt for out of staters

Well folks, as some of you may know I'm from Iowa. My dad and I, and potentially 4 other people, are looking to come to Texas for a hog hunt this spring. We would be looking to come either the weekend of March 11 or 18. Any tips for cheaper places? We don't need anything fancy, just a place to shoot some pigs. Whether it's helping a farmer out or an actual lease we'd just like to get on some pigs. Housing of some sort would be nice, but not necessarily required. Let me know what you folks have/ know about. The farther north the better but we aren't scared of a drive! Thanks!

Double L ranch for hogs. You will have a blast and kill all the pigs you can stand. PM me if you need more information.

I should specify that we will be gun hunting. Only 2 of us have bows, and while we may bring them the gun while he the focus. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Put in for this, archery or shotgun/muzzleloader, only non-toxic ammo allowed.

Cactus creek in Nixon. I've never been where I haven't seen 20+ pigs each sit.

We were hoping since hogs are usually a nuisance we could get on as some pest control!

Not that likely. I find it easier to get free permission to hunt Kansas white tails than Texas hogs or anything in Texas.

Give Daryl Vaughn a call (903) 826-4033. He can probably hook you up and he might trade for an Iowa deer hunt. Tell him Brian Johnson sent you!

While hogs are a great nuisance, most farmers and ranchers realize that hunting has little to no effect on their population but the revenue from hunting can offset their annoying habits.

A day lease with good numbers is the best way to go. As to where for rifle I can't say. I will say to look for one set up to hunt day or night.
