Cape question

I shot the central tx buck November 12. Cut antlers off. Now i am wanting a shoulder mount. Should I just get a cape from the taxidermist? My main concern is losing this deer's characteristics (hair color, etc). Is my concern unwarranted?

If you do not have the original cape you never going to match the original characteristics.
But a cape from the taxi or on Ebay or shoot another buck

Thats a fine buck
buy a cape...most likely your going to look at his head gear a lot more than his hair color.
And the memories of the hunt will be worth it

That deer has an awesome cape color around his head! IMO, you will not ever finds match to that. If it was a typical grey face deer, that would be different.
