I've had one do that. It's crazy how fast animals can react.

Looks EXACTLY how I've seen 'em squat in arrow avoidance manuvers! That is an awesome trail camera pic!

                          How low can she go....

I shot over a does back earlier this season. I was sooooo mad I botched a 13yd shot I could not stand it! The next morning I went back to the same stand. As I was staring at the hole in the cactus pad that my arrow passed thru (that was about 5 ft behind where the deer had been standing when I shot) I realized that it was not just a bad shot on my part that caused the miss. The hole in the cactus was real low to the ground. When I got out I measured, and it was only 15" off the ground!!!

It wasn't that I made a bad shot, but that doe did a matrix move on me and ducked under that arrow. It is amazing how fast they can react sometimes!!!

And this is especially true if they have their head down eating... I quit shooting does especially unless they have their head up. I used to wait until they "settled down to eat" before shooting... Not anymore... their matrix moves don't seem to be as good if they have their head erect...
