How long to let a deer lay before going to look for it
I shot a deer in the right shoulder and let it lay for 10 minutes. Is it jogged off.Went to look for it and it was down 50 yards with its head up. And then got up and Lumbard off with his left shoulder dinged up. I backed off and came back to the cabin. How long do you let one leg before going back and looking for it

If you have coyote's like us in Crockett, It won't be there in the morning. Get the lanterns and the toilet paper out and start tracking blood.

It was going toward a fence and he will not be able to jump that fence. At least my impression of him. I think I'm going to wait a total of 1 1/2 hours after shooting him. I have a drone that I can look for them tomorrow if need be. But I would like to get to meat

Sounds like a good shot. Aimed at the right shoulder and when he ran off his left one was bad. He couldn't carry any weight on his left side.

head shoot them no wait, 22-250, 220 swift ,223, 222, or neck shoot them no tracking. I haven't had to track a deer since Ive been hunting with the smaller caliber rifles. my larger calibers stay in the safe. I know I know these are varmint calibers but will dispatch deer very effectively if shot placement is spot on

Did you shoot him with a rifle? Could you not get a follow up shot when you bumped him?

                        Found him
Hit him in the shoulder and itt came out his brisket the through the leg

An hour and a half later I put a bother bullet in him and brought him home
