Probably not as much of a problem as it looks like it would be, many times the skin is still there just not in the places it's supposed to be, makes for a bit of sewing and detective work for the taxi.

My dad mounted a grey fox that was kicked by a horse(cause of death). Hide tanned ok, but hair was falling out, so he put a bunch of broomweed in that area to cover it up

You would be surprised. Most that I have worked on that look like this ed up having most of the skin. It's more of a tearing and not much missing. I would however pick a pose that that side would not be the show side.
                  Nice cat!

It can be fixed. Like said make it a wall mount and that side doesn't need to show

I hunt in pretty open country and have chances that it will be long shots (and I was deer hunting) so I had my 7mm RUM..

i shot a big bob like that with a shot gun at pretty close range... Thought it was too messed up to mount. A buddy of mine said he'd take it so I gave it to him... Don't know who he had do the mount, but it came out just fine. Only way you could tell there was a problem was to actually run your hand along the side of the mount. You could feel all the stitching, but you couldn't see anything abnormal.
