Trigger Advice - new Remington 700 ADL

I just purchased a new 700 ADL in .270 for a mule deer hunt in NM. I got a surprise invite to go in 3 weeks on private land so I'm trying to line all my ducks in a row. I am getting the store to mount/bore sight a new Vortex Diamondback HP scope which should be ready by next Friday. The specs show that the 700 trigger is adjustable but I am having a hard time finding the instructions to accomplish. Is this easy to do and are the screws accessible on this model?

Looking for advice or directions on this one - figured someone on the GS can lead me down the right path.

    1. I would definitely double check the mounts that someone else installed for me. There's always one or two screws loose haha
    2. The factory Remington triggers are "adjustable", there's a screw on the trigger that you can play with. But I could never get mine even to 5 lbs. So ya, adjustable from 8.5-5 lbs. I threw it in the trash where it belongs and bought a jewell trigger

Buy a Jewel, or a Timney.

      Good triggers have spoiled me.

Yeah I don't think I can swing getting a new trigger installed and make it all happen with my schedule. So the best can do is 5lbs?

You could have a gunsmith do a trigger job on it for you (polish and adjust). Last time I had one done it was $25, but that was a few years ago. Shouldn't be too expensive.

That was when Remington made triggers worth adjusting. My wife's looked like someone with palsy cut the parts out with a torch. You would get a Charlie horse in your forearm shooting it. Drop a quality trigger in yourself in a few minutes by watching a YouTube video. You can adjust and play with the factory but like mention above 5 with some slop is about it on most... unless you just happen to have got a "good" one

Chunck it and get a Timney. I would anyway.

Not much too it. I put a 510 in my daughters 700.

If it's a newer model one it should be the xmark trigger and they are pretty good for factory triggers. They are adjustable as well.

I absolutely hated it. That was just me though. The one I dealt with was pretty sloppy and never would actually go below 4lbs 2oz on the scale.

It's no timmney or Jewell but way better than previous remy triggers.

Eh I didn't think so after a $50 trigger job that is. It had side to side slack in it in that 10 thousandths range.

Disagree. I have an older 700 in 220 swift that I had worked and it's fine. These new triggers are junk
