I'm not sure if they have one in your area but look up a place called The Art of Shaving. I have been to one at the mall.

I treated myself to my first straight razor shave, it made my face break out. I will try another I'm sure, but not in Mineral Wells.

I cannot stand barber's who are to lazy to offer straight razor, hot towel services.

Reminds me of Okinawa. Shave, haircut, pop your neck, massage shoulders and back, hot towels, etc. for $5.00

All I've ever gotten was a neck and sideburn shave.
                Never got my face done.
The barber that I used to go to recently died, though.

It's hard to find a shop that does it that's for sure. I treat myself when I can .
I was working in Baytown and went to Trophy Barber shop there and got a great shave.
I remember my Dad and Grandpa doing it as a kid and the day we were in the shop in Victoria and they said " I think we are going to need 3 shaves today". He pbly didn't take off 10 hairs but that was the shave that got me hooked.

Walked into a shop in Hong Kong to have my "Whites" tailored......
It, was a combo tailor shop, hair cut, shave, massage, shoe shine, place.
After all that,......I was one sharp looking Squid...
                      But I could barely walk....
I ended up ordering two suits, and some Gabberdine dress blues.....

You talking about the Barber who was on the square until the fire burnt the buildings down? Or which one?
I remember the fire. I didn't start going to him until he moved to the hotel. Thought I heard him mention Elm Street was his location prior to the hotel.

Getting harder to find a true barber shop anymore. This place has a nail shop in the next building with a sign up the reads "$4.99 man cut". Another barber down the street told me those places don't have barbers at all. The women there get cosmetician licenses and then cut hair with it. He also claimed they offer a back room massage and their lights are on past midnight on the weekends. I don't think I'm going to try and verify that

I too sport a shaved head. I have always been curious about a barber shop shave, but have scared to death of having someone slice up my ol wrinkled head.

I assume you had no issues?

5 bucks. Man that was a rip all I paid was 400 yen equals 2 bucks in Oki.

I use the Boardroom in Katy. Enjoy the upscale atmosphere and the quality has been good so far.
