I'd love to! Just depends if he is going to hunt in the same compartment as I was. If I had the whole thing to myself I'd hunt up against the Stillwell Ranch.

I believe you could but staff all turned in already so no one to ask to be sure. They told me they always have more standby spots than hunters for the archery hunts.

So what area are you hunting?

They assigned me compartment 15 which is from HQ and south to about 1 1/2 miles short of river. Said some good bucks were seen here on the hunt 3 weeks ago. No one connected on last hunt though. They have had some rain since then so guzzlers may or may not produce they said. I set a camera on the 2 guzzlers I have. Spent the afternoon doing that and driving around some to get a feel for the place. Did see 4 doe right about sunset.


No bucks seen yet. Going to spend tomorrow walking high and glassing below. If cameras show anything tomorrow I'll set up on one of them wed or thurs. Said if don't see anything they can move me. I may ask for next to stillwell if tomorrow is a bust. Then you can share your secret. [emoji16]

I didn't hunt against Stillwell, it looks like I hunted the unit you are in. If so, I can tell you what took me 3 days to learn. Is the big horn trap in your pasture?

Last year a guy hunted up against the Stillwell and saw 2 5x5's the first day then decided he'd rather tour BBNP.
